WCP Employee Spotlight: Kris Isackson
Known for his kind nature and laid-back personality, Kris Isackson has a reputation for being easy to work with as the Credit Manager for our Medford division. Despite the tough nature of being in the credit department, Kris excels because of his soft-spoken and approachable demeanor. His ability to foster collaboration and maintain a positive atmosphere with both customers and our team is truly commendable, which is why we are honored to feature him in this month’s WCP Employee Spotlight.
Kris’s WCP Story
Kris was introduced to WCP in 2008 after speaking with Tony at the Eagle Point Golf Club, where Kris worked at the time. Tony, the Medford Division Manager (retired), presented Kris with a great opportunity to work alongside the Medford team as the Credit Manager. Kris took Tony up on this opportunity and continues to serve in that role to this day.
On a typical day at work, Kris begins by hopping on the computer to check open orders and accounts. Then, it is on to filing PO (Purchase Order) receipts and accounts payable invoices. As phone calls come in and emails are answered, Kris handles customer payments, batching and posting them to their proper accounts. When needed, Kris sets up new accounts for the account managers. The afternoon is spent calling customers to collect payments and discuss any issues. Though he is in Accounting, Kris works closely with the account managers to inform them about customer balances and accounts.
More About Kris
Kris grew up in a small coastal town called Trinidad in Northern California. He earned himself a golf scholarship to New Mexico State University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Management and Marketing. When he finished college, Kris had the privilege of playing professional golf for 11 years. That led him to travel across the United States and to compete in tournaments in Canada, Asia, and Australia. Kris’s professional golf career even gave him the opportunity to be a personal professional golfer for the owner and creator of Grey Goose Vodka.
In 2005, Kris and his wife, Amy, moved to Southern Oregon to raise their family. Together, they have a 17-year-old son, Ian, and a 14-year-old daughter, Ava. When Kris and Amy are not cheering on Ian at his baseball games or Ava at her volleyball matches, they love spending time outdoors. They enjoy activities such as snow skiing, dirt biking, quad-riding, rafting, boating, and camping.
