Employee Spotlight: Pauline Beal
Paper is probably the product category that our team at WCP Solutions is best known for. It’s been part of our core since 1930, and our customers rely on us to help get them the right sheet for whatever project they are working on. For over a decade, Pauline Beal has been a mainstay in our paper sample department, doing just that, helping customers find sheets with the perfect shade, finish, and weight for their projects. With years of experience, she has a vast knowledge of paper and the industry and is willing to share what she knows with everyone. People who have worked with her describe Pauline as hard-working, dedicated, and kind. She is a true embodiment of WCP and because of her impact on customers and employees, we proudly feature Pauline as our July 2023 Employee Spotlight.
Pauline’s WCP Story
Relocating back home to Seattle from Las Vegas, Pauline was drawn to WCP because it was, and still is, a family-owned company. At the time, WCP had just celebrated its 75th anniversary. Fast forward 16 years and Pauline heads our Kent Sample Department as their Print Sample Coordinator. In her role, she helps facilitate paper samples across our divisions, makes product prototypes, and continuously teaches us about the world of paper. She also assists the Credit department along with the Receptionist Desk.

Being the Print Sample Coordinator has been self-rewarding. Every day is a new challenge. I work with the WCP Branches and assist with their needs. I also assist the Credit Department and Receptionist Desk.

Time management, compassion, and creativity.
Do you have any advice for new people in the industry who are just starting their careers?
Always listen to the customers and give your all. Being detail-oriented is important. As you become confident in your new role, remember there is always something new to learn!
Can you share some of your favorite memories or stories while working at WCP?
My greatest memories are meeting & working with John De Nure, Museum Curator, and Sam Boren, Account Manager. Their advice and humor increased my confidence as I got comfortable with my new position. Other fun memories I have are with the Kent Branch at our company events, like our Christmas parties, summer BBQs, cook-offs with co-workers, and sharing time together as a WCP family.
Employee Compliments
“Pauline has a huge, caring heart! Our customers and team love her. People stop in to see Pauline the way they’d visit a mom. Many of our customers have developed personal relationships with her and often express worry if she’s out for the day. You’ll frequently find warehouse staff stopping in for a visit. Account managers come in to fill a request and end up staying a while. She’s a great listener and gives something she calls “energy hugs” if she knows you’re navigating a rough patch. She is a real pro at her job, but it’s her kindness and friendship that makes her special.” – Stephanie Quinn, Kent Sales Manager
“Pauline is the heartbeat of printing paper. Her creative approach and attention to detail have made her an integral part of WCP Sales and an extension of our customers’ service to the end users. Always cheery and ready to assist, Pauline steps in (and up!) whenever asked. She represents who and what WCP stands for: courteous, professional, hard-working, and most of all friendly.” – Bruce Aberdeen, Director of Paper
“Pauline is always willing to help all the WCP branches make sample prototypes and share her knowledge. She is one of our most dedicated employees. She’ll work with all departments that need a helping hand. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful woman to work with. Pauline is a fabulous co-worker.” – Laura Luethje, Paper Specialist
