WCP Employee Spotlight: Maddie Lambert
In just over two and a half years, Maddie Lambert has become an integral part of the Marketing Team here at WCP Solutions. Known for her boundless energy, style, and outgoing personality, she never hesitates to dive into projects and take initiative. Normally, Maddie would be the one writing this spotlight—reaching out to employees and discovering how they make an impact both within the company and beyond. Whether she’s growing our digital marketing presence by running our social media, blog, and email newsletters, or working on promotional material for special events and activities, Maddie is always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed.
When she’s not hard at work, you’ll find Maddie up on the mountain snowboarding most weekends during the winter. A talented illustrator and lover of coffee, she brings creativity and energy to everything she does. For these reasons and many more, we are excited to recognize Maddie Lambert in this month’s Employee Spotlight.
Maddie’s WCP Story
Maddie joined WCP’s Marketing Team in 2022 and quickly began working on digital content for social media and our blog, but her story at WCP doesn’t actually start there…her dad has been a long-time supplier rep for the company.
“When I first applied for the position, I recognized the name ‘WCP’ but couldn’t pinpoint where I knew it from. But after I applied, my dad said he was actually going to deliver some samples to WCP later that day, and everything clicked.”
Since joining the team, Maddie has grown our social media presence online, helped to launch our email newsletter, worked to expand our event rental program, and illustrated the past few holiday cards. You can often find her running around the building with phone in hand convincing employees to jump in and film for a new viral Instagram reel!
Maddie’s day typically starts at 7 AM. She begins by checking and responding to emails, followed by a scroll through WCP’s social media accounts to stay updated on any new activity. From there, her day varies depending on the season and current ongoing projects. She might spend time shipping out WCP merchandise orders to different divisions, creating newsletters and other email collateral, producing videos and images for social media, writing blog posts, or designing artwork for company events.
More About Maddie
Maddie was born in Lạng Sơn, Vietnam and was adopted when she was five weeks old by her parents Tad and Kim Lambert. Since coming to the States she grew up and continues to live in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area outside of Portland, Oregon. From third grade through high school she was homeschooled with her sister Makenna. She believes that being homeschooled taught her valuable skills like time management and self-discipline—traits she continues to carry into her career today. Maddie graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Communication.
“Spending years doing schoolwork at home really prepared me for Covid, where I finished my last year and a half of college in quarantine.”
When Maddie isn’t working on digital marketing campaigns or coordinating events, you’ll most likely find her on the slopes. As an avid snowboarder, she’s heading into her sixth season, hitting the mountain almost every weekend during Winter. With 25 to 35 trips each season, she frequents local spots like Timberline Ski Resort and Mt. Hood Meadows, but also ventures out to places like Big Sky in Montana and various Colorado resorts. Her snowboarding ambitions even extend internationally, with dreams of shredding in Japan and Canada someday.
“If you know me, you know I am very much an extroverted person. I will talk your ear off if you let me rope you into doing videos for WCP’s social media.”
Maddie is always on the go and when she’s not on the mountain or planning her next getaway, she enjoys unwinding at home by drawing or painting. This creative side brings a refreshing balance to her high-energy lifestyle and is just another example of the diverse passions she brings to both her work and personal life.
Q & A with Maddie
What is your favorite part of working at WCP?
Being able to use my interests and passions in my position.
What is one lesson that your current position has taught you?
There is a lot more to learn about paper, packaging, and janitorial supplies than I thought.
Do you have any advice for new people in the industry who are just starting their careers?
For Social Media, specifically, try to plan as much in advance as possible. That way, when other projects and events pop up, you can dedicate the proper time to them without feeling rushed or that your workload is too much. General advice – your attitude and outlook towards your job are just as important as your productivity. I am grateful I am with a company and in a position that makes me want to get out of bed and go to work.
Can you share some of your favorite memories or stories while working at WCP?
There’s a lot. I enjoyed prepping and attending the All Sales Event in 2023. It was work that didn’t feel like work. I also enjoy roping my coworkers into making social media videos, visiting other divisions, and coming up with creative ways to make the company ‘trendy’ on social media.
